One of the oldest canals in Europe still functioning, UNESCO World Heritage site. It's considered one of the greatest construction works of the 17th century. Cruises (1-day or longer) can be booked. It's also very pleasant to walk or cycle along the canal.

The "Pays Cathare" abounds in castles, abbeys, medieval cities, ruins from the wars against the Cathars that are still visible today, all surrounded by natural and spectacular views. Amongst these marvels, discover the Château de Saissac, located 10 minutes' drive from Le Domaine de Villespy.

Capitale Mondiale du Cassoulet ("World Capital of Cassoulet"), also a marina on the Canal du Midi, is a 15 minute drive away.

Listed historical site, this ancient abbey/benedictine cathedral is one of the major Cathar sites of the region, only 5km away.

Get lost in the history of Carcassonne and Cathar country!

20 minutes away, the Bassin of Saint-Ferréol was created in the 16th century to supply the Canal du Midi with water. Encircled with grass, beaches and maritime pine, it is nestled at the foot of the Montagne Noire. There you can swim, sail, fish, pedal-boat or just relax.
